1. Delete your account in the App
- Open Long Haul: Cycling & Routes and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Account Security.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Complete the identity verification step and review the deletion notice.
- Confirm permanent deletion.
If the menu name differs in your app version, update Long Haul from the App Store or use the email process below.
2. Request deletion by email
Email kaelcao7@gmail.com with the subject Long Haul Account Deletion. Send the request from an email address you can access and include the phone number or Apple Sign In account associated with Long Haul.
For security, we will ask you to verify ownership before deleting an account. Do not email your password, SMS code, Apple password, or full authentication token. We aim to complete a verified request within 15 business days.
3. Data deleted from active systems
Subject to technical dependencies and legal requirements, deletion removes or de-identifies data associated with your account, including:
- account credentials, profile fields, avatar, and connected sign-in identifiers;
- private routes, route-book entries, uploaded route files, and associated media;
- saved ride records and uploaded ride media associated with the account;
- group ride memberships, presets, messages, competition records, and awards where deletion does not compromise required records for other participants;
- social profile data, follows, comments, cheers, notifications, and achievements; and
- active authentication sessions and refresh tokens.
Public content may be removed or de-identified. Content copied or independently shared by another person cannot always be withdrawn from that person's device or account.
4. Information that may be retained temporarily
- encrypted backups may contain residual copies until the normal backup rotation completes;
- security and operational logs may be kept for a limited period to investigate abuse and protect the service;
- records may be retained when required by law, a valid legal order, fraud prevention, or the resolution of a dispute; and
- aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you may be retained.
5. Delete local and Apple Health data
Deleting your Long Haul account removes cloud data but may not remove data stored independently on your devices or by Apple:
- delete supported individual rides in the App before or after account deletion;
- uninstall Long Haul to remove its local app container and cached data from that device;
- open Apple Health to review or delete cycling workouts previously written by Long Haul; and
- review or revoke Health permissions in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
6. Before deleting your account
- export GPX routes, ride files, or other information you want to keep;
- settle or leave any active group ride safely;
- confirm that you understand the account cannot be recovered; and
- read the Privacy Policy and Health Data Privacy page for related details.
